Sequence turns the travel bookings in your Gmail into a timeline of your trips. It is run by Sequence Apps LLC, the controller of your data. Questions go to hello@sequence.travel.
Your Google account and Gmail. Your name, email address and read-only access to your Gmail. We look at basic details like sender, subject and date to find your bookings, and read in full only the emails that may be bookings or relate to one, plus receipts from the tree-planting charity we support. We never send, change or delete email.
We don't keep your emails. We read each one while we process it, then delete its text. We keep the trips and bookings we find, like dates, places, booking numbers and the traveler names on flights and trains, a short record of each email we look at, like its sender and date, and an encrypted Google token to keep your trips current. We never see your Google password.
Photos, if you allow it. The app reads when and where your photos were taken to put them on your trips. Your photos never leave your phone. To name a place, the app sends us the point where a group of photos was taken, and we don't keep it. We keep each photo group's time span, photo count and city, and the places you confirm.
Location, if you ask for it. If you tap to find yourself on the map, your location is shown on your phone and never leaves it.
Purchases. Your subscription record and, for a print order, the name and address it ships to and your email address for the receipt. We never see your card.
Your devices and sign-ins. Notification tokens for your phone and widgets, and a security record of your sign-ins and Google connection changes, without your device, location or IP address.
Only to run Sequence for you, which is also our legal basis. We do not sell your data or use it for ads, and no one tracks you across sites through Sequence.
We use these kinds of providers. Those that handle your personal data process it only for us, to run Sequence.
Most are in the United States. For EU and UK users, our main providers' terms include the standard contractual clauses for that transfer.
Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest, your Google token is encrypted separately, and each account can reach only its own data.
While your account is active. Security record entries are deleted after a year, and hosting logs, which record the pages you load and your IP address, after 30 days.
When you delete your account we delete your data right away, except for these.
A paid print order is finished first, and its print file is kept 90 days after shipping in case it needs a replacement.
You can see, correct and delete your trips in the app, and email us for a copy of your data. Delete your account from your profile in the app. Deletion is immediate, cannot be undone, and revokes our Google access. You can also revoke it anytime on your Google permissions page, which stops any new access to your Gmail. Turning off photo access in iOS Settings deletes that phone's photo data the next time you open Sequence, except the places you confirmed. In the EU or UK you can also restrict or object to processing, and complain to your data protection authority.
We use Google user data only to build your travel record and provide the features described here. We do not sell it or use it for ads or credit decisions. We do not use your email or any other Gmail data to develop, improve or train AI or machine learning models. No person reads it unless you ask us to, security requires it, or the law does.
Sequence's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. The use of information received from Google Workspace scopes will adhere to the Google User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
If we change this policy, we update the date at the top of this page.
